本日の稽古より「コマ落とし」と「据物斬り」/Today’s training “Koma-Otoshi” and “Suemono-giri”

大会をほぼ1週間後に控えて本日(5/24)も一通りの稽古。
これは「コマ落とし(水平斬り)」の切断面。いまだ研鑽中のため、あまり“美しい”断面になっていません。コツは恐らく「いかに速く強く刀を当てる」ことではなく、「刀を回すのではなく腰を回す」ことだと思うのですが、まだ稽古が必要。
こちらは「据物斬り」の稽古跡の光景。前々回の記事でこの跡を「獺祭(だっさい)」に例えましたが、毎回掃除が大変。
The contest is scheduled in 10 days and we trained toward the contest again.
This is the section of “Koma-otoshi (horizontal cut)”. I’m still in study for this skill. The section does not look very “beautiful”. The tip should be “Swing the lower back before swinging sword”, not “Strike the bundle fast and strong”. I still need more practice.
This is after the practice of “Suemono-giri (vertical downward cut)”. On the article last month, I compared this scene with “Dassai, Feast of otter”. Anyway it is always trouble to clean this.
